"Art is my first love. Art is my life. It is almost everything for which I live. In its realm my first passsion is photography"
Robert Schaefer is really great. I fell in love with his pictures at a glance. I learnt that he uses printing processes of platinum, palladium and cyanotype.
Robert worked in Germany for a certain time and he had plenty of exhibitions there. His works were taken to Ufficio dell Arte in Paris, France, which, as I came to know, is an achievement for the photographers.
He also worked in New York, where he learned how to use the alternative printing processes. During this time there were exhibits in Manhattan as well as Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin.
Robert says his main artistic influence was Henry Matisse. I couldn’t find the evident traces of Matisse canvasses on his photos as Matisse was fond of experimenting with colors. As for Schaefer’s photos, they are actually duotone or montonote.
Schaefer has exhibitions on the Internet: Cylcloid-Fathom Gallery. Also: Apple, Inc.. Robert conducts classes and conferences online: Online classes. And his personal website: Robert Schaefer’s works.
